This page explains where the numbers on Banks Done Right come from, who writes the pages, and what to do if you spot a mistake.
Who writes the pages
Brian Meiggs writes and updates Banks Done Right. A few older guides carry another writer’s name, and the byline on each page shows who wrote it. The site is published by MeiggsMedia LLC. You can read more on the About page.
Where the numbers come from
Rates, fees, minimum deposits and sign-up bonuses are read on the provider’s own website. On pages we’ve updated, the Sources list at the end names each provider page and the date it was checked. Banks change these figures often, so that date matters.
If the provider never states a figure, we don’t guess. We leave it out.
Dates and older pages
The Updated date at the top of a post shows when it was last edited. It doesn’t always mean every figure was re-read that day, so the Sources list is the better guide. A Fact checked label appears beside the date only when a page’s Sources list has an outside link and a date.
Some older pages haven’t had a full update yet and may not have a Sources list. Treat their numbers as a starting point and confirm them with the provider before you apply.
What we don’t do
We don’t give personal financial advice, and the site isn’t a bank or lender. The pages are there to help you compare options. See the disclaimer for the details.
Corrections
Spotted something wrong or out of date? Send the page link through the contact page, and if you can, a link to the provider’s page that shows the right figure. We check it against the provider’s site and fix the page. The Updated date changes with the edit.
