Banks Done Right helps you pick a bank account without wading through the fine print. We compare checking and savings accounts, review individual banks, explain home equity options, and cover banking for small businesses.
Who it’s for
It’s for anyone comparing accounts. That might be you looking for a checking account without monthly costs, or chasing a sign-up bonus. It might be a homeowner weighing a HELOC against a home equity investment, or a business owner who needs a business account.
Who writes it
Banks Done Right is written by Brian Meiggs, the founder. He earned his first bank bonus in 2011 when he opened a checking account, and he has been tracking bank offers for checking and savings accounts ever since. He also spent years in corporate finance before he started publishing online.
A few older guides carry another writer’s name, and the byline on each page shows who wrote it. You can see all of Brian’s guides on his author page.
Who publishes it
The site is published by MeiggsMedia LLC in McLean, Virginia. Banks Done Right is not a bank, a lender or a credit card issuer. We only give information, so confirm the numbers with the provider before you apply. The disclaimer covers the details.
How we research and update pages
Rates, minimum deposits and sign-up bonuses change all the time. When we update a page, we check each figure on the provider’s own website and list the pages, with the date, in a Sources list at the end. If a provider doesn’t state a figure, we leave it out. The whole process is on our editorial policy page.
